John Sparks
Court: female child age 2/30, female, died in October of congestion
also on this page is Leopold Block, age 13/30 father was foreign born, died in April of inflamation. Unsure who his father was, probably Leopold.
Also died Clementine Patridge, age 36, Texas died in November of congestion; and her son Worthy Patridge, age 14, died in January, also of congestion. This is the Patridge family with whom Elvina Gentz was staying with in the 1850. She was 15 yrs old and had come ahead to Sabine Pass ahead of her parents who were still in Liberty county. Relationship between the Patridges and the Gentz has not yet been determined; however was Worthy Sparks perhaps named after the elder Worthy Patridge?

Were Vesta Davis and Hallie Inez Davis sisters?
Was Mollie Florence Guinn daughter of Jacob Guinn and sister to Clara Guinn? Percy Gray Sr. (son of Edith Gentz Gray) gave George John Corrigan as person who would know his whereabouts. Were they brother-in-laws?

A saved history: Oregon's oldest house owned by black pioneers makes the National Register of Historic Places

Historic home built by Hannah and Eliza Gorman, mother and daughter, who had crossed the Great Plains to Oregon via the Oregon Trail as slaves of Fielden and Eizabeth Bounds Thorp. Their home survived and was purchased in 2004 by Patricia Benner and her husband Tony Howell. They had the home registered with the National Register of Historic Places. Many many thanks to Patricia Benner for sharing this beautiful story with me to add to the website as part of our family history.
(note: Elizabeth Bounds was the niece of this site's owner's gg-grandfather James Lovelady
