      A condensed version of 11 pages of Weatherly genealogy taken from the Greensboro, North Carolina Public Library and the County Court House..

      There were two brothers that settled on Buffalo Creek and Reedy Fork Creek in North Carolina. They were Edward and William Weatherly, William was thought to have been born in either Virginia or West Virginia, town not known. .

      The William Weatherly family built a big brick home on Randleman Road, Greensboro, N. C. with slave labor (have photo of it) they had 2000 acre plantation, most of it has gone into a develpement at this time. The late Mrs. Teague was the last link of this immediate family, no issue..

      In 1790 census of Guilford county, North Carolina appears the name of Jesse R. Weatherly, b. March 9, 1818, son of Joseph Weatherly, b. October 8, 1774. Joseph Weatherly was a skilled carpenter..

      After their 1800 marriage in Tennessee, Joseph and Resigna (Regina or Rezina) Weatherly moved to Madison County, Alabama, and were there in 1831 or 1832. Next they moved to Benton ( now Calhoun ) county Alabama, about 6 miles north of Anniston, and some 3 miles southwest of Alexandria, Alabama, purchased a home there and that is where Joseph died at 77 1/2 yrs. of age, June 1, 1852. The 1850 census listed Joseph Weatherlys householk as follows: Joseph 76 a carpenter, Resigna 68, William M. 39 teacher, Joseph P. 25 farmer, Georgia Raley 13, the latter must have been a grandchild.

C. to Joseph Weatherly, also of Guilford county, for $225.00 all that tract of land in Guilford county on the waters of Reedy Fork, containing 147 acres. Proved in court February 1804, by William Weatherly..

      24th of July 1805, Joseph Weatherly of Guilford county, N. C. to Abner Weatherly Sr. same county for $220.00 a tract of land in Guilford county on Reedy Creek and Fork, on Abner Weatherly Sr. line 147 acres. (seal) Joseph Weatherly. (Looks like a lot of family seeling back and forth-I.J.S.).

      Corres pondence with Mrs. Hermione D.Embry, Gen. Ref. Librarian, Tenn. State of Nashville, Tenn. states: "Isaac Weatherly warrant *2627, heirs of same (deceased) 640 acres for 84 months service as a N.C. soldier in American Revolutionary War". Isaac was the son of William H. Weatherly, b. 1765. Joseph, son of Isaac Weatherly (in his Will) left 342 acres for a Park to be known as the "William Weatherly" Park.
